Say YES to FREE trees!

Would you like a free tree – plus free planting services?
Do you own a house or property in the City of Wilmington?
Would you like to volunteer to help us bring more trees to Delaware?

Return-to-Work Crews

Just fill out a tree request form to get things started. We’ll make a
recommendation for the best spot and best type of tree for your location. These trees are not little seedlings – most varieties are 7 to 12 feet tall.

Download the request form here.

Free Tree varieties include:

Small

Medium to Large Trees

Print them out or email forms to your friends! This opportunity isn’t just for homeowners – churches, schools and businesses are welcome to apply. Or form a neighborhood group that can request several trees and make your whole block more beautiful.

We are focusing on neighborhoods in the city that currently have low tree canopy cover, but we will do our best to honor your tree request. Our focus areas include:

  • Spring 2010: 19805
  • Fall 2010: 19801
  • Spring 2011: 19802
  • Fall 2011: To-be-determined

Say YES to the Trees for Wilmington campaign and help us plant
20,000 trees by 2020! Spread the word to friends and neighbors today.

Questions? Call Annie Acton at (302) 658-6262, ext. 106,
to learn more about the benefits of trees. Read a report on the state of trees in New Castle County, visit this website

Please note that due to the overwhelming response to our Free Tree program there is a waiting list to receive trees.
Planting can only be done in Spring and Fall.
Our funding source for this program expires in Fall 2011.
We are doing our best to fulfill all requests as soon as we can.

Thanks for your interest.

Funded through a grant awarded by the Northeastern Area State and Private Forestry, U.S. Forest Service. This institution is an equal opportunity provider.
